Which American expedition was the first to cross the western portion of the United States?
Correct answer: Lewis and Clark Expedition
Who's John Galt
nonotthatthis5,
Meriwether Lewis suffered from bouts of depression throughout most of his life but after the expedition he really struggled to find purpose upon completing, what he felt, was his life's mission. Sadly, he committed suicide just a few years after returning to civilization. "Undaunted Courage" by Stephen Ambrose is an incredible account of the expedition that anyone interested in this topic should read. One of my favorite books by one if my favorite authors.

SaltyWillOWisp96651, All of the accounts I have read about the expedition give substantive credit to Sacagawea.

Without Sacajawea their journey wouldn't have been any where successful. But what do you expect from white man's history. Credit a woman much less an American Indian women? I think not.
