jblum315, the scorpions were huge bows, like a crossbow, that we're fired from the front of ships. The arrows or sharp "spears" fired from them would travel half a mile or more, and would take several men to drawback the very strong bowstrings to a stiff tension on each bow. Very deadly.

I started reading GOT many years ago, never dreamed of the time that would. lapse between books. The movies had little to do with the books. Not to my liking. Then I became hooked on Outlander. Once again, years between books, movies are nothing like the books, great stories but too dragged on to suit me. Now the author says it will probably be ten years before the next book in the series. I'm sorry I ever read any of them and ten years from now I'll be 83. Not likely to be able to see, hear or afford to buy a novel. I try my best to never read a "first book in the series.". Yes I am a crabby, cranky and mean natured old woman

I read some of the books but around the 3rd or 4th one in, it got to be too much for me to keep up with. I've never seen the TV show and likely never will.

When too many watch a show, i will not like it. So, never seen it, nor play Pokemon Go

Attempted to watch first episode and turned off, a bit over the top on content and yes i get it...don't like it, don't watch it
