Learned from going to the Visitors Center in Lafayette La. The name "Cajun" morphed from "Acadian" as they once lived in Acadia which is now Nova Scotia. The Scots came and murdered and pillaged the town. A whole lot of these Acadians fled to Lafayette. The Scots, being rude, renamed it Nova Scotia, French for New Scotland. New Orleans is made up of French and Indian descendents called Creole. Both cities are great places to visit!
