UnopposedYogi27101, I was 16 when my dad took us to watch the parade down what was renamed Mercury Boulevard featuring the original seven. And then we all watched them one at a time blast off into the "wild blue yonder". on a small television set up on stage in the auditorium. oh the wonders of modern technology.

These gentlemen inspired me to look towards the sky, the heavens...I started to PAY ATTENTION to both the world around me & what's beyond. My fascination, with the "stars", planets. creation, I truly believe, led me to my believing there MUST be a CREATOR...an AWESOME BEING...and then to my belief in Christ as my Savior & my passionate love for and daily desire for more knowledge about God my Father in heaven! They quoted scripture on that first mission/flight!!!

NefariousResident6, I remember seeing that on television as a child. I also remember one of the astronauts skipping and singing "Hippity-hop, Hippity-hop, Hippity-hop on the moon."
