One of the longest epic telling of the Civil War in the movies. Clark Gable as Rhett Butler and Viven Leigh as Scarlett O'Hara were cast perfectly in their roles.

Last words of the first half of the film. I first saw GWTW at the old MGM Grand Theater. As it was meant to be seen. It's archaic and insensitive in places but the performances and art are superb.

Vivien Leigh was an Anglo Indian ( born in Assam, India) but went to great lengths to keep it secret.

Hattie McDaniel won an Oscar for her portrayal of the maid. The first African American woman to win an Oscar. BUT she wasn’t allowed to sit on the same table as the other cast members. A trail blazer.

I like the acting of the Hollywood stars in their roles. But the portrayal of slavery was degrading to see in that era that's the way it was. When you are of a particular nationality it would be sensitive to watch.

My late mother-in-law was at the premium in Atlanta and saw most of the movie’s stars. Sadly, the “program” she saved from the show is missing in action.
