millwallmarty, You are so right. These days half a dozen lines with no rhyme or metre is called poetry. I love poetry and my aunt would read to us when I was young. I have whole shelf of poem books and wrote poetry myself. Kipling, Rupert Brooke and Alfred Noyes are my favorites.
