A lot of the content and innuendos are very inappropriate for prime time television... definitely not good for younger viewers

RagingCosmonaut54784, I'd say that there's a lot of stuff in primetime these days that isn't necessarily appropriate for younger viewers, in terms of violence and "adult situations." The ratings are there to advise parents.
Too many may equate animation with kid friendly. In some ways, that's never been the case. Toons like Betty Boop were originally shorts shown in theaters before TV. Stations showed them before cartoons for kids were available. I used to love Popeye, but today, the constant sexual assaults on Olive Oyl aren't so funny. Of course these days, I'd be much more worried about what kids are looking at on their cell phones than anything on broadcast TV. One exception, I think "reality TV" has done more damage to our culture than anything else on the air.
