You should try this comparing my "cubit" with my son who's 6'5 and has really long arms and large hands with long fingers. I am 5'3", 125lbs, small framed, and I have sat next to him and felt like a small child when holding my arm up next to his. My forearm is about half his and my hands look so small. And sitting like that, all's I could think of was how I held him as a baby and marvelled over how tiny he was. I used to put his foot across my palm and check for it getting bigger bc it was so small it fit with room to grow, 👣. Sweet memories 🚼♥️🥰! (and just FYI he now has a size 15 foot!)

Sounds pretty arbitrary. What if you measured a 6 foot man's arm versus a 5 foot woman?
Sandyberry
MatteusMaximus, I hadn't either. I remember cubits from the Bible but don't recall the others. Definitely interesting, I agree.

Ha, to me inches are an ancient format as well.

PetMom28, yes, just hit the back button. It's way quicker. I also discovered if you click on the sleigh that runs across the screen you get extra points.

Fun fact: The “ald” (wingspan as I call it 😅) is also almost always equal to your height… and the length from elbow to wrist is the size of your foot
TJ
Apparently the Ark that was supposedly built by Noah, was built using the measurement style of cubit. So by rights every piece of timber and material that had to be measured and cut would have had to have been made by the same person (most likely Noah)otherwise the Ark probably would have not be exactly buoyant, well at least not for forty days and 40 nights.
