"Pietà" is a sculpture by which artist?

This old Pagan thinks it's one of the most beautiful, evocative, touching and human sculptures ever. It depicts the sorrow of a mother losing her child with such care and tenderness... one can't help but be moved by it. I have a small replica on my altar.

Although one knows it is a beautiful piece of art just from photographs, you must be right there in St. Peter's Cathedral to truly be moved by it. Jonnie#08, I also saw it there. I got my irradiated dime and got 1st glimpse at the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow with a lot of the new inventions we now take for granted. There was a line for this Beautiful sculpture, well worth the wait.

DSDA, I saw it in person at the New York world's fair in 1965! it was brought here by the Vatican for their pavilion at the fair. just magnificent, I was 10 years old, and I will never forget seeing it!
