Tornado Alley has moved east, same starting point in the Texas gulf but generally takes a northeast route through Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee. I guess there was nothing left (mobile homes) in Oklahoma and Kansas to destroy.

when I was little we lived in Wisconsin towards Chicago and I got to see a tornado first hand as it went past us going about a hundred miles an hour with all kinds of furniture and objects in the center of the tornado trying to pull us in and my brother my cousin and myself were holding on to the water pipes on the outside of the house and that's the only reason we didn't get stuck in thank God it sounded like a freight train in our ears

Grammy, it's a huge area many states are involved. tornados are more likely to form in tornado alley.

Grammy, Well, why would anybody drive a car, or fly, or any number of other things people die while doing. If you care about statistics, one is clearly safer living in "tornado alley" than doing lots of things.

Tornadoes can & have occurred in all contiguous states in the country (U.S.). But, Tornado Alley is notable because it's the part of the country where all the ingredients are amplified for formation. Most -- not all -- of the United State's largest, most-destructive tornadoes happen here.
