The birds of which group are in the picture?

They look like the furbys that used to be all the rage.

I thought they were owls.

As a birdwatcher I knew the Frogmouth had to be somehow related to the night jars. I would love to see this one.

Have them on our fence at night sometimes here in Australia. They can make a noise that sounds like an alarm, which can be disconcerting!

We have them land on the back verandah occasionally
