Player #25874027, There's a story that a farmer or fisherman was walking on the shore and picked up a shining stone. He took it to the market and an unscrupulous dealer told him it was a piece of glass and offered three spoons for it. There are other origin stories but I like this one. Pretty sure it is just a story though.
