Not that it really matters, but everything I've learned says the gun used is .44 caliber -not- .41 caliber & although it's powerful enough to kill a man (especially a head shot), it's not powerful enough to have produced an exit wound. Also, some folks who have studied the matter say that those who treated Lincoln probably did more harm than good & it may have been their efforts that hastened his death.

Think Tank, probably wouldn't have taken his head off, but would have a much larger exit wound where Lincoln would be obvious DOA, in which case no effort to render aid would be plausible.
