I researched this question and now realize that Hades was Demeter's husband and not her father!!!!

If she was the queen of the underworld wouldn't it make sense that Hades was her father?

I believe that Persephone had to spend part of the year in the Underworld with her father, HADES, and the other part of the year earthside with her mother, Demeter. I do not think Zeus was her father!
