Laudy Miss Claudy, a good thing that included human sacrifice. Things in America were not Paradise by any means, and the Columbian exchange had good and bad for peoples on both sides of the ocean. Admittedly, it was catastrophic for many indigenous people, but especially for the powerful (and extremely violent) empires that ruled over the weaker peoples. It is a complex topic that deserves greater and broader study.
