ALS is a cruel disease that takes away your ability to walk talk and even take care of yourself. I had first hand experience as my dad died from this horrible disease in 1994.

Crown Joolz, I’m glad u posted this - l thought maybe l was wrong to think Stephen Hawkins had motor neuron disease I’d also heard of ALS but didn’t realise until now that they are exactly the same horrific disease but known by different names here in the UK & USA.

I think ALS is most wishes disease I know. I think those people are trapped in their own body. One of mine guitar hero (Jason Becker) has it as well. I feel very sorry for these people.

my closest friend passed away from ALS in 2010. he was only 40. it is such a terrible disease and absolutely heartbreaking watching someone you love suffer through it.

UnopposedYogi27101, what amazes me is how long he lived, getting it so early. He was one of a kind. as a RN I saw many men with this. they only lived about 10 yrs after getting diagnosed.👍😔
