ElixSkipper, they filmed the movie in my little town. My sister and her friends were asked to be extras in the Home Coming scene, which was filmed in our gym. I was about 10 when my sister dragged me to see the movie and I could never walk past the house they used for Carries home after that. I’m not sure but, I believe the house is still standing and still just as creepy as it was in the movie. I very rarely drive down that street to this day. 😳

King actually threw the manuscript in the trash. His wife fished it out and read it. She convinced King to publish the story. One of the characters, Carrie's mom, was inspired by King's real-life schoolmate's mom, who was described somewhat as an overtly religious person.

PrincipledKahuna2027, keep in mind in real, from what I understand he's a very easy going guy, he just has a terrifying imagination that he's able to put down in print.

Stephen King is a truly talented man. My father who is dead now met him when he came in to our family's jewelry store and my dad was even mentioned in one of his books.
