suggs, the term alien refers to anyone or anything strange or from another place. Its just that the USA is probably the main user of the term in that context. The popular ideas of extraterrestrials and the associated mania, probably act as a deterrent to the use of the word.

Roswell is a cool place to visit, the alien theme is everywhere like on streetlights design, but local government officials hate that their town only known for the alien stuff as there is other interesting history to the place too.
