Mandarin also has a fifth tone called a "no tone" which is used at the end of a sentence to indicate a question. e.g. Ni tso shen ma What are you doing? Literally You do what, eh? with the ma being the no tone question particle.

Player Alexandra, I'll never know how foreigners learn to speak English, there are so many contradictions in it. Even the i before e except after c rule, which I learned in primary school, has been abandoned because so many new words break the rule. Bough and cough look as if they should sound the same when spoken, but don't, the list is endless.

As a Greek native speaker English wasn't a very challenging language. Russian on the other hand is a difficult language but also very intriguing

ShellSeller, I've attended Easter mass at Paris' Cathedrale de Nôtre Dame twice. Mass was spoken in Latin, French, & English. Quite beautiful.
