My first impulse was to exclaim, "WHAT!! Are you !!#@#!!-'g kidding me!!", but upon reflection, I'm not surprised. There's no telling what sort of "chemical cocktails" I've been unknowingly consuming all these years. It goes to show companies are relying on the fact that most folks really DON'T read the label. True in my case, anyway.

riel, Triclosan is an antibiotic sometimes used in hand soap also. For centuries soap did not have it. Then someone thought it would be good to kill the bacteria that washing didn't remove. But it backfired. Now we lower natural resistance, and we have stronger bacteria. Triclosan can kill good gut bacteria, so now people might have digestive issues and need probiotics to recover.

OMG! My country's water supply has fluoride, introduced to prevent tooth decay.... I wonder what other reasons the authorities have for introducing such chemicals into the water we drink.

This varies by country. Triclosan is not a common ingredient everywhere.

When people are worried about the chemicals in toothpaste, just remember everything is a chemical, literally everything... You’re not meant to ingest toothpaste directly, as long as the levels of those chemicals are low enough, you’ll be fine.
