Kitten666, You seem to misunderstand the current use of the word "Safari". Safaris are now PHOTOGRAPHIC Safaris. I have been on several. Not one animal is harmed, in fact, one safari (what one might loosely call an "Elite Safari"), we had to sign a waiver that under most circumstances, our life would be forfeit for the sake of an indigenous animal.

Went there for a 14 day safari in June this year. Yes, the lemurs are wonderful, saw several types. The island is in it’s infancy as a tourist destination; therefore the hotels have a lot to be desired. The roads are terrible, it took us 12 hours to travel 350 km every other day.
