Which astronaut said: "The Eagle has landed"?

I was 9 years old...and remember Walter Cronkite..."He's on the moon!"

I was on a flight to Cleveland, OH. The pilot announced the moon landing to us.

The librarian wheeled in a television on a stand, to the classroom, so all us first-graders [90 of us] could watch. I graduated h.s. with many of those same kids and that was our major collective memory!

The first word spoken from the lunar surface was, “Houston”. “Houston, the Eagle has landed”.

I was 9 too.
