Which Spanish band sang the hit "Macarena"?

My favourite memory with the Macarena was in 1996. I was working with mentally challenged adults and was conducting an exercise group before lunchtime. I was heavily pregnant at the time and we were ending our exercise session with doing the movements to the Macarena. I remember shouting out to my group, " Hey, if I can do the Macarena with this big belly, you can too!" They laughed and followed along. Some of them teased me about making my baby exercise along with them. Good times.

I was living in Cape Coral, Florida when this become popular. The city was far from development so my husband and I threw the 1st block party and invited people from as far as 10 blocks away. one of the teens played music on a boom box. We all had a great time learning the steps from an attractive, hip swinging neighbor.

I can probably do the dance still.
