Which condition arises when the body's response to infection causes injury to its own tissues?
Correct answer: Sepsis

beebee, I survived sepsis too just like you. And yeah, thanks to my doctors and especially nurses.

unicorn 54, Your body knows what it wants you to do to recover, and if that is lots of sleep then please listen to your body and do what it needs.
I know the circumstances are completely different, but when I was a child I would regularly tell my mum that I didn't feel well, I'd curl up in the armchair and go to sleep. Maybe ten or twenty minutes later I would be wide awake again, and wanting to go out to play. It turned out I had appendicitis, but even now if I don't feel very well I spend as much time as I can asleep.
I do hope that you make a full recovery from sepsis, and that it doesn't leave you with any after effects.
Good luck for the future xx.

My youngest brother just died of complications from sepsis 2 days ago. He had pool accident nearly 14 years ago causing spinal cord injury. He has been quadraplegic ever since, often suffering from UTIs. Even though he far outlived the doctors' prognosis regarding his life span - by nearly 10 years - this sepsis event greatly weakened his already fragile body. He suffered a stroke and, a day later, a seisure. He was only 62.

DeanoG 65, the best health service in the world. but consecutive Conservative governments want to privatise it so poorer people could not afford to be ill, like in America a terrible place to be ill if you are poor. America seems to prefer to go abroad and kill people rather than give free health care to its own people.

I had an Infected tooth that turned septic. I know the same thing happened to another person who died of it.
