I live in Kentucky. there is alot of migration. hummingbirds fly 3000 miles south and Geese fly North. I love their sound

I used to live near the shore by Lake Erie where there was a lot of marsh land and watched the birds gather to migrate in the fall. Huge flicks of birds would fly abstractly up and down and right to left. I always wondered if they were picking a leader to follow for the migration south.
