Later heard that an aneurysm was found in the Dads head which must have pressed against a part of his brain pushing his anger to the limit. It’s such a sad tale...to be killed by your own parent. Love love his songs. He will always be one of the greats.

LazyLabradoodle29407, But that was only one of many problems he had. I suspect he was troubled from early childhood. His father was very abusive. He beat his children and his disapproval was pretty much a constant factor in Marvin's life. He had trouble in relationships and his drug addiction pretty much destroyed his career. He had suicidal tendencies by the time he moved in with his parents again. His brother told everybody that Marvin said before he died that he wanted to die, so he deliberately pushed his father too far.

Many of us thought it was a April's fools joke. A brilliant singer and songwriter. Sad that his dad took his life. His music will live forever.

I seen the play, "Marvin My Brother", in Los Angeles, by his sister.. it was tragic what Marvin Jr. endured in his life, but more so, what demons his father experienced from his mother.. Marvin was a kind soul, who Smokey always called Pops, cause of his bad feet.. So much more..
