What is a large body of religious texts originating in ancient India called?

Arohanui, I was happy to learn from the question but thanks for the extra knowledge. Sorry but at school I only learnt 1 religion and 1 way of thinking. The more I learn about other religions and cultures the more it helps.

The vedas predates any religious texts. The oldest religion has much to teach the world. It is just that one has to learn with an open mind. A lot of ills could be reversed if everyone is open minded about other religions. Rather than thrusting your religion on someone, it’s better to learn the best every religious texts have to offer.
