Figured this out because both names are Greek.

Iliya
The term “Greek” didn’t exist in antiquity. The Hellenes, as they called themselves, didn’t consider the ancient Macedonians as part of their culture, nor did they speak the same language (hence why they called the Macedonians barbarians). When Alexander was a pupil of Aristotle, the Hellenes were opposed to non-Hellenes receiving education that was solely allowed to their own people. This form of rejection has been documented during several generations before Alexander The Great. First Alexander I was initially refused to participate to the Olympics for not being a Hellene, later Phillip II of Macedon was brutally labelled as of non-Hellenic descent by Demosthenes. You can easily find the above mentioned examples of the ancient Hellenic stance in relation to the ancient Macedonians.
