Yes they serve as part of the food chain for other insects but they are dirty horrible things that spread germs and disease.

I've seen butter fly, I've seen a house fly, but I never seen an elephant fly.

I like those stores that have a blower turn on as soon as the door opens. It keeps the flies from coming in.
