Very interesting and a great, informative question. I love this game...

This is the first time that I have heard of this, but I recognize myself in the description of an echoist.

SusieQ1477, I think we all have a degree of echoism, to a lesser or greater degree, it's what the article implies. The inference is that only narcissists don't have any degree of echoism. Trump is a prime example of the latter. He believes that he's more intelligent than anybody else and doesn't have the slightest bit of doubt that he's right and everyone that doesn't agree with him is wrong. in my experience, intelligent people are full of doubt and question things. Anyway, I hadn't heard of it either, although I managed to guess the right answer (by a process of elimination: I couldn't see how it could have been any of the others).

Saint Nine, Yes. I agree with you! POTUS has been diagnosed (by psychologists) as a narcissist. I might add that strong echoists can be equally irritating. According to this description, my sister is an echoist. It's very difficult at times to deal with her insecurities. No matter how I try to validate and uplift her, she chooses to wallow in mediocrity and self-deprecation.

My first comment (as I feel impelled to offer a little world-wise experience and wisdom) to all the wonderful people playing this game: Try to be balanced in every aspect of your life, including personality. Too much echoism turns you into a complete pushover. The right amount of push back (self worth?) will create in you a force that a narcissist will not be able to control. Balance. Happiness.
