Grew up with Dalmatians. My first one, Pepper had congenital deafness. She was a outside dog. She had puppies under my bed when I was 5. The father was probably a terrier owned by my buddy a block away. We kept one of the puppies and found good homes for the rest. Pepper went to live on a farm owned by friends of my family. Freckles stayed with me for 18 years. Really great dogs for kids. A little wild with a lot of energy, but also fiercely loyal and your child will never be in any danger or threat, From anyone.

my dad bred dalmatians when I was growing up. He trained them to be watch dogs, also showed them with the AKC

We have owed 2 Dalmatians our first one live til she as 15 3/4, and the one we have now is almost 12. They are good dogs, very needy and they tend to spoil easy.
