the office of Hangman (not executioner) was sanctioned by the state but he wasn't a state employee. he was self employed and received payment from the budget of the prison where the prisoner was hanged. Albert Pierpoint trained Allen. he also wrote his memoirs which is an interesting read.

Player #8297262, with forensic science being as good as it is these days, I'm a great believer in capital punishment for murder and the most heinous crimes commited, especially against children, this law should be implemented without a doubt

They need to bring some sort of capital punishment back, may stop the mindless murders that are escalating in this country, and also free the prisons up.

We should have some form of capital punishment especially for the murder of children however if it was brought back the evidence against the perpetrator would have to be 100% proven as in the Let Him Have It case which was a total travesty of Justice.

And when he wasn't executing people Albert Pierrepoint ran a pub!
