Ray Kroc was a crooked sheister who cheated the brothers out of their business. Watch the movie "Founder" to see how it all went down.

It's funny but no matter where I eat fries, McDonald's still has the best!!

I see more than one comment gushing over their fries. As frozen ones go, they are the best, but they don't hold a candle to properly done fresh cut.

Don't eat the fish there. It probably has been kept warm all day. In other words, it isn't fresh.

Player #6852065, or read the book “Grinding it out.” Ray Kroc was a crook who sold Florida swamp land to unsuspecting clients before hitting the jackpot with the McDonald brothers whilst selling them milkshake mixers. This book is given to trainee managers during their initial training. I was astounded when I read it because it certainly didn’t show him in a good light!

I worked for the inventor of the Egg McMuffin, Herb Peterson in the Goleta/Santa Barbara McDonald’s. He told me in a conversation once he wanted to sell them with a packet of hollandaise sauce but couldn’t find a way to stabilize it. Herb was friends with Ray & perhaps unwisely didn’t take a better deal for his invention- just the franchise for that location. RIP, Mr. Peterson. 🥰

Mimek, I grew up in the heartland of the birthplace of Fast Food. Both Del Taco and Taco Bell started in my hometown which while very close, is not San Berdoo. Burger bars were all the rage in the 1950’s , along with walk-away taco restaurants in the heart of the Inland Empire of Southern California. I say all this to point out that there is a larger history of the origins of our “fast food chains”. McDonalds is just one part of the whole.

Player #50176407, My understanding is that the original McDonald brothers insisted upon fresh not frozen beef, fresh-cut french fries and actual fresh milk and ice cream milkshakes. Still was fast food on a white bun usually with a soda, but Kroc & company turned the food into a Super-sized McHorror step by step. Pink slime indeed.
