What is this popular vintage toy called?

Player #96919, wow! They must have disappeared fast. They were THE toy to have when I was young. BTW, I'm in my early 70s.

I had those and an Erector Set. That's probably why I had a career in construction. I developed a love for building things.

I remember tinker toys and Lincoln logs growing up .

I'm 65+ and I remember my older cousin playing with this toy back in the 50s.

Player #96919, I'm 69 I've heard of them, but this is first time I've seen them.

I played with them as a boy in South Africa during the seventies . Before Lego was a thing.

I played with them, my kids played with them, and now my grandkids play with them. We still have them. And now they're made of plastic. Not as good.

I am not yet some of the previously stated ages & I certainly have very fond childhood memories of playing with Tinker Toys & several other of the imaginative toys that unfortunately seem to have fallen by the wayside. Perhaps these toys were not distributed internationally.

Player #96919, I'm also 61 and I remember playing with them. I grew up in Louisiana, New Mexico and Nevada but I'm not sure exactly where I had them. I was quite young so they may have been a Southern thing for a while...?
