I drove through it on a road trip once. It goes for miles and miles. You can pull over and walk on it. Really something to see... at least once!

TMOD, Yes a wonderful movie about New Zealander Burt Munro. In 1967 when Munro was 68 years old, he rode his 1920 Indian Scout (that he modified himself) 183.95 mph at Bonneville, breaking the land speed record for an under-1,000cc motorcycle. His speed record still stands to this day.
