Correct answer: Philippines

Also called a Century Egg. I visited Manila in 2003 and I was offered this local delicacy. One quick smell and I was off, quicker than a bride's nightie

Centenarian,
I think century eggs and balut are different.
Century eggs are put in straw and earth for several months. And smell very much like sulphur. It is Taiwanese/ Chinese.
Balut are fertilised ducks' eggs, after a few weeks the embryo has grown. It is then cooked and served. Sometimes feathers and beak are present.
