Look it up on earth maps! The Galápagos Islands are in the Southern Hemisphere! That means south of the equator! There are no penguins north of the equator except in zoos. This is according to the World Wildlife Foundation(¿?).

I'm the first to comment! I once covered a news story about a penguin found off the West Coast (USA) towards southern Alaska. Guess it made a wrong turn somewhere. Or maybe it escaped custody...
