What is called 'the past' as it is described in written documents?

History is the learning discipline that shows both the best and worst examples of mankind. The best should inspire us to build a better future, and the worst should serve as what not to do. Unfortunately, we fail to learn from History all too often.

In some ways we have learned from history and in some ways we haven't. People, particularly politicians, were as intolerant to each other 200 years ago as they are today. Only difference is then they dueled with pistols, now they duel with Twitter.

Unfortunately History is constantly changing; the reason: Historians need to be 'published' in respected journals in order to be credited with academic success. Journals won't publish research that only repeats what prior historians have published. So historians are always revising History, i.e. inventing new 'theories' that overturn the record of events written by the people who were actually present at the time those events occurred.

I like history the history is very important in one normal people

I've always been fascinated with history. I don't understand why some think that destroying statues, books, etc erases the past. They should be reminders of what mistakes mankind has done and what not to repeat. Imagine if all the world's monuments in ancient history had been destroyed.

ok so my question is did all those people who got it wrong rush it to much😶

I enjoy reading, listening to others & talking to others about historical events but sometimes certain people can act like only they know what really happened & that they are always correct & you must be incorrect, if there is a difference in the story line. 😂

I love history of any kind!!
