I think we must all be a bit different from each other regarding the hypothalamus. I don't ever feel urgently hungry; I either have space in my stomach to eat, or am at various stages of full. Too full is worse than too empty. If I lived on my own I would probably lose weight. Most people seem to be the opposite. I have been anorexic, so I know the empty feeling. When it comes to thirst, I certainly can feel urgent to have something to drink.
