In which year was the early childhood program called ‘Head Start’ launched in the United States?

I started school in 1961/62. I can't believe it was so long ago. Time does fly as you get older.

I remember my when my niece was younger she wanted to go to Head Start. She couldn’t because her parents weren’t low income. She said, “You mean, I can’t start school until kindergarten.”

This is a good program. I think today we need other programs for older kids maybe HealthStart.. to get kids educated on health and social awareness. So much has changed due to cov19
