My grand father was in the Army during the war!! His son my father joinned the Navy in 1964 & I joined the Navy in 1983 we all did it to keep this country free!!

Pacheko17, Your grandfather probably fought bravely as a soldier . The average German ( Deutsch) did not cause trouble for the World . It was a small number of evil people who believed their own propaganda. I do not believe those of today should have to apologise for their forebears, be it for Nazism , slavery, religion or Empire. We should just live our lives to avoid repeating deeds or attitudes from outdated beliefs

It's true Germany made the wrong(and actually oneof the worst) moves at that time, and they indeed had to apologize for it. But I really respect the German president(I apologize for not remembering his name still) who kneeled in front of the Jewish people's cemetary. Of course they had to, but since the president is the very representative of one country and considering the fact there would've been horrible people who might have been against the apology, I think that was a really brave and honorable thing for him to do. I wish Japan would've done the same for their crimes in WW2. I don't specifically blame the people who aren't related to it(like young generations) since it's not like someone can choose to born from their country. But I do hope the older people who were and still are celebrating for it could do some apology. It's a sad truth, to be honest.
