Who is the Father of Microbiology?

I recommend reading “Microbe Hunters” by de Kruif; it talks about this scientist and others like Pasteur. It’s an old book but quite interesting.

Bwsides bacteria, his observations extended to other biological structures, including blood cells, muscle fibers, and even the structure of wood. Also, he didn't pursue it as a career in science, but did it as a pastime. Fascinating man.
