As a fellow nurse, all I can say is that it is a very honorable career and always proud to wear the uniform!

It's amazing how often you have to have a lawyer to get what you're due from the government after you've given your all for your country. Look at the fight the veterans of the Vietnam War have to go through to get compensation for their exposure to agent orange.

I thought I was reasonably knowledgeable about the CW, but I had not heard about her. She deserves much bigger mention than she gets.

Kat, As a retired RN, I took classes in the History of Nursing and never heard of her; just shows you that not much has changed in 160yrs-- nurses STILL do the work & save the young doctors when they have NO IDEA what to do for their patient & save the patients & get very little thanks, but LOTS of blame when things go bad.

I don't see the woman from the Red Cross who prevented so many soldiers from dying by having the doctors wash there hands between patients. Over 2/3 of the men who died died from infection because doctors didn't wash there hands until this woman showed them how . I'll leave her name out and what she used to sterilize the hands...
