Which of these is a holiday taken by newlyweds?

A holiday can be taken anytime, even many years later, but some couples feel pressured to follow tradition or else be talked about. It's only the couple's business if and when they go on one.

Pretty sure the term comes from the first month (hence moon) of a marriage whereby the bride's father would supply them with mead to drink, which is made from honey.

It seems the norm now to ask guests for a minimum amount of money as a wedding present, or to set up a crowd funding page, so that the newlyweds can go somewhere exotic for their honeymoon, which I think is crass in the extreme.

Actually, "honeymoon" owes its origin to Persia(Iran). The father of the bride offers mead to the groom for a full month. Mead is made from honey.
