Player Scipio Africa, A freelancer with ethics & scruples is fine. Most freelancers, in this area, in my experience, have been better in their chosen fields, than those of a "contractor" or "company affiliate". Don't let one bad apple spoil the bunch.

When I was 17yrs old in 1995, at my first job after HS graduation, I was hired to do manicures& pedicures at a local Vietnamese nail salon. I got $4.25 per hr. and had to be there at 10am-8pm 6 days per week.I worked like that for a year and at tax time they told me I was considered a freelancer or independent contractor. So I couldn't figure out my taxes that year and quit that job and decided to never be a freelancer again.
