Sweden is a great example on recycling. burning waste is not recycling, but better than landfill. In Suffolk UK the leftover Ash from burning is made into building blocks, nothing goes to landfill from EfW plants. Unfortunately not everywhere in UK has these plants so some areas still landfill.

I am really surprised that Norway produce enough waste to send to Sweden they both have very low populations.

Hopefully someone will invent a way to use waste to generate heat without producing toxic ash.

Confusing answer. First it says Sweden buys trash from Norway, then says Norway pays Sweden to take their trash. Which is it??

Player #48044781, sad to say, we don't expect environmental care from the USA.

Player #33161631, America is more like 50 countries. When I was in HS we were just beginning to recycle. They paid us to recycle. Now, we pay to recycle. And we can’t keep up. Plastic isn’t the “answer” it’s what’s killing us. We must go back to refillable bottles, less to no packaging, every particle recyclable. That was the plan. We truly need to be more homogenous, as Sweden is.

Many town tips in UK use the methane generated from burning waste to run the plant, so does Masschusetts in USA I believe.

Player #33161631, During WW2 they made building blocks from clincker a waste product from steel manufacturing, as a carpenter I'd have to get a fix into these blocks. like fixing into weetabix.
