Albert Einstein was known for not wearing which item of clothing?

I may be wrong but I have never seen a photo of him in a hat or wearing a tie.

According to his letters, he got tired of getting holes in his socks, and he thought socks were redundant anyway.

luckycatfay, Some hats and ties people wear, especially absent minded professors types, never seem to give much of a hoot about such stuff. We were blessed to know a math professor, knew all the big things but lost little stuff constantly.

Also loved sailing but never wore a life-vest...
