What is a female sheep called?

They are actually quite smart within their sphere of existence which is as a herd animal. Hand raised lambs will act just like dogs, come when they're called, follow you round and want to be with you even after they're weaned.

As a child, I heard that if one sheep jumps off of a cliff, they all will. I don't know if they really do, but I decided never to be a sheep.
