When did the Istanbul pogrom occur?

Why did they leave the places that belong to themselves? Should the weak ones that always be victims? It makes awful and sad.

More than 1,000 injured, more than 200–400 Greek women and boys raped, between 12 and 37 people died from their injuries. Orthodox churches were razed, Greek cemeteries destroyed, Greek homes and businesses ( Armenian and Jews were also attacked.) Horrific!

Crimes against humanity that remain unpunished... So sad!
