If Sub-Saharan Africa had not been colonized by European powers, it would be a very different place today. Countries would likely conform to pre-colonial ethnic groups and not to the artificial boundaries drawn up by colonialists. Extensive trade would likely exist between African countries instead of them just shipping their raw materials and natural resources to Europe. African languages, all 3,000 of them, could have flourished without the forced introduction of English, French, etc. It is a tragedy that no one, especially Africans, will ever see it that way.
